I was actually wondering the same thing about post offices. I don't visit one often enough to pay attention to posted signs, but it doesn't look like it's prohibited in this law, either.
The above statute doesn't specifically state the post office and federal buildings, but I've always heard that post offices and federal buildings were off limits. It might be some sort of Federal law. Regardless, I don't test it when it comes to federal buildings.

Being that the DMV is run by the Louisiana department of public safety and corrections, wouldn't it be classified as a law enforcement building?
Ok. I'm at the DMV and left it in the car. I'm standing in line now and examining the quality of folks present, and not feeling too safe. After I get my number, I'm definitely going back to the car.
