Selling - As long as they are over 18 and don't mention that they're a convicted felon, you're good to go. I have not, and will not ever use a bill of sale.
Buying - I call the Sheriff's office with the serial numbers, and usually they're nice enough to run them. Again, no bill of sale.
I thought human trafficking was a no-no...
If I know someone, or they have good feedback and are established here...cash and a handshake.
If it's someone I don't know, I do a bill of sale with DL number.
I've done enough 4473's at red Jacket that there should be NO DOUBT I'm G2G (I have ATF frequent flyer miles)
HOWEVER: I would NOT give out my DL number to 'some guy'
a Gunstore... where the ATF can crack down on them... fine.
'Some guy' who might steal my ID... No way in hell.
SEE my ID... sure if you insist (Although doing this DOES bring up the possibility that you thought the guy was a fellon... can can actually HURT you. As if and when)
Copy... Nope.
Stats... Not gonna happen.
Why no bill of sale, Quickdraw?
How is filling out a homemade piece of paper assisting the Anti's?
I kind of thought the Bill of Sale was to prevent this;
I buy a firearm from Academy.
Sell gun to you WITHOUT Bill of Sale,
Call police to report it stolen,
They get my gun back, I have gun and your money. $Chuck-Ching$
No?
Oh I see, it's about the DL#. Hell no I've never done that.
