The only time I can think of that a CHP holder could not sit at the bar area is in certain establishments where there is a separate bar area that has a difference license and that license is not a Class A Restaurant license. I can't remember where it was but I went to a restaurant one time while working and there was a separate door that had under 18 not permitted on the door and it led to the bar. In that case, I would think through the door = not legal.

If they don't have a Class A, you can carry and sit at the bar. (Applebees, Chili's, etc).

It only allows commissioned peace officers to carry in a Class A.

That's right. The part that geoney was questioning was where you said:
Yes, ccw holders cant sit at the bar or in the bar area.
Which is correct in some instances, separate area with Class A Retail license, but in the vast majority of restaurants is not. I think that may have been a mistype based on the other responses you had in regard to restaurants in this thread.

I found all the information above using google - help yourself.

The bottom of the article I linked you specifically states the date that it replaced 1495.5. Not sure how you missed that but uh, read it again and start at the bottom.

I looked again. I do not see any reference to "sitting at the bar."

Off topic but I was at margaritaville casino in biloxi and a security guard came up on the side of me. not to draw attention, he was pretending to show me a brochure and told me to put my knife in my pocket so it wasn't visible.

Didn't bother me any, just glad he didn't say I had to walk all the way to my vehicle and leave it there.

I think it's pretty cool of that security guard to not make you bring it to your car.
