    Just looking at this thread for the 1st time and don't feel like reading all 9 pages. Was the argument of "extension of home" brought up specifically because someone wants to someone to prove where in the law it actually states that phrase, or is someone saying that is isn't OK to carry a firearm in your vehicle?

    Either way to an extent. With no CHP you cannot CC a gun in your car.

    Not get you but the person that would conceal carry a machete in their pants. Hard to call it a tool

    and I used Dave's term "technically". I've yet to see any cop hassle anyone over a pocket knife in Louisiana trying to call it a concealed weapon.

    True and True. My point was that the law was vague. Texas, somewhat recently, changed their knife laws and allow automatic knives. I wish Louisiana did :(
