What you can't tell from these computer mockups is the planned scale of the new Chinese carrier. Remember, those guys are a lot smaller than Americans. If you look closely, the entire ship is powered by a 12v trolling motor.

Everything I hear from people about China makes them out to be a huge military might but they don't even have a carrier yet and when they do it will be 20+ years old. Is this the communist propaganda machine?

I believe so. And the American propaganda machine helps perpetuate it.

    catamarans rock!

thought catamarans had sails ??? That would be truly cheap to operate, little chinamans running up and down the masses, raising and lowering sails...surely they'd be bright colors with dragon pictures...cool boat.

Of course the masses will have to hinge down when the airplanes come back to roost

Being a 6 year vet working on the flight deck of various carriers ,I see no catapult launching ,arresting landing gear wires. That brings to question how long is this carrier? Also on the end of the launching end is a helo pad, in my day many, many a/c went off the bow of ship due to cold shots from steam cats.

I believe they have a lot of problems to work out. Maybe they will read this and hire me as an adviser :dunno: for Walmart trading stamps.

I know what u mean and agree. I did 4 years on the shitty kitty.

Oh, don't know about zero use. I'd love to have a nice sized sail boat some day. It would certainly extend your range... plus no fuel expenses would be nice.
