Mercy...yeah, they'll work just fine. Had to cut through a pair today and was wishing they had the line (down the back of her stockings) to use as a guide.
Finally got my JW-15 back from the shop so...
    A little base coat action

Then I got to thinking about how to stretch the stockings over this piece and still have them stretched out enough to match the pattern on the stock ...

Now I can do areas or smaller parts using this as a stencil. Open pattern on one end, a little tighter and curved at the other. And it still has some stretch so I can press it down over a part for coverage
    Anyway, it's getting there..

Hoping to finish this thing today. Getting crucified by family and friends about painting a perfect barrel and receiver but the rifle only cost me $200 new back in the day, and I could easily strip the finish without hurting the blu at any time.

Thanks Fanatic. Paint should be cured tomorrow morning for complete reassembly. Hoping I didn't sacrifice any accuracy with the cut down. That little rifle has always been the most accurate .22 I've ever owned and about the only one I have that will put those 60gr aguilas exactly where I want.
Anyway, my old BDC scope goes back on and we shall see...

Tried a few brands of subs at the 150ft mark. I did lose a little accuracy, but still close enough for some easy head shots with the aguila heavy bullets:

Worst of the lot was the Winchester, followed by CCI 40gr HP

Took a trial run this morning after work. Didn't hit the woods til 8:30 so nothing was moving. But I couldn't miss this red flag in the top of a huge pine, just soaking up the sun. No wind, solid rest, stationary oversized target and a 9x40 scope made the 70yard shot at about a 30 degree up angle an easy feat. She never heard the shot. And neither did anyone else.
    This is squirrel hunting.
