Oh I bought pro a long time ago, but from what I remember more options upon finding tojan,mal,etc... no ads, more cleaning options, I really want to say pro was less than $20 and I just liked the job it did for the free I bought it. Also your software stays up to date as they get new versions, more database entry, etc...

I think I will! I didn't even know about Malwarebytes until I was on the phone with an AVG virus tech. He spoke very highly of it. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Hey man, how come AVG didn't stop this damn crypto locker?
He: Well Sir, no anti virus can stop every threat.
Me: That sucks! This AVG paid version ain't exactly cheap!
    He: I understand.
Me: Well, tell me what I need to do to clean these machines!

:ohreally: 2 hours transpire with bouts of chit chat about numerous subjects (You know the awkward time when you are on with a tech and neither he nor you are talking while your computer is doing what they told you to do!) I like to interrogate them about their personal lives.

    He: Okay, that should work.
Me: Thanks, man! How do I stop this from getting back in if your **** didn't catch it the first time?
He: Well, I'm not supposed to tell you this but go on the Malwarebytes.org website and download their free version. It should help.

    :eek3:

    He was a traitor! :mamoru:

I am just cleaning the remnants of the crypto locker ransomware virus. And installed Malwarebytes free, what are the extra benefits of pro? I have no problems paying them if it works better.

I believe Pro allows for scheduled scans. Free requires you to manually run the scans.

I bought Pro for a client one time because he wouldn't stay off porn sites and was always getting junk on his computer. By scheduling a daily scan it kept it clean longer.

A virus and malware are two entirely different animals and each requires a different tool.

For antivirus I use MSSE for personal machines (free), but at work I use ESET NOD32 network version.

I understand but the Paid version of AVG is supposed to catch all of them!

Yep, he was the boss, and over 80 years old.

    Stereotypical dirty old white man.
