They make great range guns but the 9mm versions of the 1911 are even less reliable than the .45 versions.
I put 50,000 rounds through a G17 with ZERO issues ever, just changed springs. I have fired more than 100,000 rounds from Glocks since the last issue which was a bad run of 9mm WWB ammunition years ago.
It is common knowledge in the gun world that Glocks are better for defensive work and 1911's are better range pistols.
Thank's, that's the way I'm leaning.Sig is pretty, but I buy to shoot not admire,I don't want to make a decision for anyone else but if I had the handguns you listed I think a target model 1911 would certainly appeal to me.
I'd view the Da/Sa as a draw back on a range only pistol.
