    I know there are some of you who love the 40. But i dont get it. I mean, if u want cheap rounds, u got the 9mm, if you want to pack a punch u get the 45.

    40 is smaller than a .45, about the same amount of rounds as a 45 in most guns. So, Whats the point of it?! For what purpose would u choose a 40 and not one of the other two?

    Do not be fooled by the great superiority of the .45 caliber over the .40 caliber, you MAY be surprised. Purchase the one YOU like and shoot it.

    Well, thats my point though. I like to have valid reasons for doing things, and i cant figure out why i would ever want a 40.

    If peoplebuy them simply because they get a bigger hard on when shooting them over other calibers, thats good reason enough for me. I was just wondering if there is a practical reason as well to the 40.

    Glock 21 doesn't fit my hand. When I want to save some money training, I drop in a 9mm barrel. No problem with the 17/19, just my preference.

    One mans answer to your two questions.

    Ok, i see, that actually makes perfect sense. Comfort is important with any firearm so i can definitely understand that being a factor in the decision.

    +1....+1

    Your selling yourself shorty if you ain't carrying .40:}

    Carry a 45 right now, dont think im selling myself short. If i need more than say 5 rounds, im in the kind of trouble where extra full mags are required and where each shot needs to count and be effective at doing its job so im just not getting where the advantage of a 40 comes in...

    My first semi auto centerfire was a .40 then I got another then a .45 then another .40.
    I may buy a 9mm one day but then again I may not.

    .40 S&W (short and weak) is an emasculated 10mm
    If it's a caliber thing, carry a .45. My 1911 is 14+1
    If it's a size thing, carry 10mm.
    Either way you are covered.

    Even my compact .40 holds 10+1 and my full size is 16+1. I don't see many (if any) .45 matching that capacity. I shoot .40 because its an effective round and it makes me smile. I'm accurate with it and when I caliber condensed my favorite pistols were all in .40
