They are not stating it correctly. It was an Assault Shotgun with Cop Killer bullets !

We will find out later that it was a regular shotgun to start but was treated horribly and locked up with a bunch of assault rifles. As a result of its treatment It became guilty by association.

I just read the Yahoo News version of this story, of course it had the Sandy Hook, 26 dead tagline in it. Any gun related accidents are gonna be bundled into the gun control debate from now on. Follow the 4 gun safety rules and we are all gonna be allright. Right?

An update to some of the incidents.
DA: No charges in gun show shooting

Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby said Tuesday his office will not file charges in the accidental shooting at the Dixie Gun and Knife Show this past weekend.
    ...
The owner of the gun, Gary Lynn Wilson of Wilmington, unzipped the 12-gauge shotgun to have it checked and it accidentally discharged. The weapon was loaded with birdshot type ammunition.

Wilson, 36, was going to sell the gun privately at the show.

Janet Hoover, 54, of Benson, was hit in torso on the right side; Linwood Hester, 50, of Durham, was hit in the left hand; and Jake Alderman, a retired Wake County deputy, was hit in the right hand.

NBC-17 has learned all those involved are recovering at home, and are expected to be fine.

Parma man charged in January gun show shooting

MEDINA, Ohio -- Charges were filed Wednesday against a Parma man over the shooting and wounding of a gun dealer at the Jan. 19 gun show at the Medina County Community Center.

The Medina City Prosecutor's Office charged Harry Magocky, 59, with discharging a firearm in the city limits and negligent assault, both misdemeanors.

Prosecutors said Magocky was "negligently handling a 9mm semi-automatic handgun during the show when it discharged, striking 63 year-old Robert Rousseau of Lorain, Ohio, in the arm and leg."

Rousseau was treated and released from the hospital as a result of the injury. At the time of the shooting, Medina Police Chief Pat Berarducci said Magocky bought the gun from a customer. He was attempting to unload when it discharged. The bullet struck the concrete floor and ricocheted, hitting the arm and groin of Rousseau, his business partner.

The victim was taken by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center.

Berarducci said the shooting is believed to be the first in the 35-year history of the gun show.

Magocky was served with the charges, processed and released on a summons to court. A third-degree misdemeanor is punishable by a maximum fine of $500 and 60y days in jail, while a fourth-degree misdemeanor carries a possible fine of $250 and 30 days in jail.
