    Since about 2004, I carried a SOG Trident TF-2

Last month, I got a new SOG Trident TF-7

Both of them are great knives. The assisted opening is nice and smooth, provided I clean the pocket lint out of the mechanism about once a year.
They hold an edge for what seems like forever. To sharpen them, I send it to SOG with an $8 money order, and they bring it back to a factory edge for me.

The buck knives not made in china are great blades. Those happen to be the ones you see in most commercial stores.

SIN is right. I carried a Buck Squire for years. It is my first carry knife and it's still in rotation. Made in the U.S.A., too.

Good, solid knife for thirty bucks.

Blade.Forum has its own Buck subforum and it gets lots of posts. I suggest you check it out.
