    I always knew we trained to do it that way, but the "why" must have slipped by me on that one. I figured it had something to do with reliability, like just dropping the slide might not fully chamber a round in some firearms. Now it makes more sense.

    This has nothing to do with Glocks and everything to do with training and reductions in standards.

    FWIW, I love Glocks. People do have accidents though, it happens with various guns not just Glocks. Glock didn't invent the AD/ND I think redundancy is good when it comes to safety. The Glock has 3 safeties already, adding a 4th can help but it doesn't replace education. Training has always been important.
