I've just always been nice enough to just hand them my permit with my license under it. Even had an officer tell me that because I handed it to him first he let me off with a warning.

I don't think it's a bad thing being armed. At least the guy told them he was carrying and owned it. Granted the smarter option would have probably been to just simply walk away.

I don't mind meeting new people, but I don't do these sort of meet and greet naval gazing events I find them to be awkward at best, and I have better things to do with my precious time. Besides I was told to be wary of strangers with candy. Not sure if you have any buttercups but we can't be too careful can we?

I know of a lot of folks that want to meet you, including the staff here, but you can be awkward by yourself if you so choose.
