But guys, wouldn't it have been a better idea to ask the home invaders for a timeout- and contact Rep. Roy Burrell, D-Shreveport for some quick advice on how to best handle this? He seems to be the go-to guy when it comes to dealing with violent criminals.

Sounds like ol Roy hasn't read the law we have. You already can't chase and shoot.

You can pursue and break off and regain the right of SD...what I think happened to Geo Z

Investigators said once the pair was inside, one of the people living there got into a struggle with Carter over his gun.

I guess you really are more likely to be shot with your own gun in a home invasion. Oh wait.

Dude, get your own gun and fire from a safe distance. The homeowner was damn lucky!

A few years ago right down the street from my work, an armed robbery in broad daylight took place....the offenders were FOLLOWED (:run:) by one of the employees of the victimized business in his own vehicle (and yes- he was armed) while he stayed on the phone with the police. With the infomation he was providing the police, the robbers were taken into custody less than 30 minutes later.

Under Burrell's proposal, could what this good citizen did then be considered a criminal act????

The only people who will benefit from this type of bone-headed legislation are the criminals themselves. :dunno:

I didn't read enough to say yea r no, from what I gathered it would be geared more toward something other than a witnessed crime. IMO, they're targeting how ZimZilla supposedly followed Poor Little Trayvon.

Don't see how this would work unless the person following answered too many questions w/o his lawyer. Then maybe. But far as I know it's not illegal to walk in the same path another has recently used.
