    +1 on the midlength. I have both also and there is a noticeable difference between the two for sure. Also, if you are staying with carbine length, see what you can get a new S&W M&P15 for. They are a very nice gun also, and you can usually find them a little cheaper. I got the MOE edition and love it. That said, if you have you sights set on the DD, get it. It's your gun, get what you want. Like has been said, there is nothing wrong with them, great guns.
