You're getting into the philosophy of prison as a punishment or deterrent vs a place where we rehabilitate vs a place where we just quarantine pieces of **** from the rest of society so we don't have to deal with them as much. The ability to make prison into any one of those things is debatable.

I give Louisiana an A for effort!

I think many folks have the wrong idea of modern American prison life. That's why our prisons aren't big hits on the show "Locked Up!

    Now Russia?! :eek3:

I much prefer "Locked Up Abroad".
If only we could out source a few choice inmates to a Peruvian or Laotian Prison Camp.

No! I want monsters that rape children (particularly brutal sadistic rapists like Mr. Kennedy), to face death if it warrants. I don't believe in the penalty's in the afterlife.

If prison were so bad and such not the place to go; why do these scum so willingly accept life sentences of 40, 50, 60 years (depending on their ages), instead of death! they will be on Death Row for 15 -20 or more anyway.

It because even if they have 50 years till they die, they will still be able lead "normal prison" lives. Now, if I knew they were in solitary for 20 of the 24 hours of the day; I could lower my stance a bit.
