I played pretty extensively a couple years ago. Embarrassingly, I was pretty damn good and spent way too much time at it. I get really competitive at whatever I do so it was never enough to just enjoy it.

If you're just wanting something casual, you can find decks at wal-mart that are prebuilt and ready to go. They're nothing fancy, but relatively cheap and fine to learn with.

Yes, my son got me into it. as for cheap dex I just get them at the local comicbook store. maybe ebay? much more fun to me than regular old playing cards.

Lolz! Yea right. How much are Alpha ones going for right now? Oldest booster I ever bought was an Unlimited Edition one, unopened. I played about 14 years ago. I still have cards and decks, just not what I had. A friend of mine had my binders and combined my **** with his. So, no telling what is mine now.

Anyone play Magic The Gathering

...not since the 90's. A douchebag "friend" stole my entire collection of over 2000 cards all from generations 1-3 and I never bought any more.

But, they can be bought at Walmart, near the book section and the checkout lines. You'll probably get a better deal (and better karma) if you buy them from your local comic book shop. I still think the older cards are a lot nicer than the new designs.

Be warned, if you start playing, and you like it, you will end up with boxes and boxes full of cards and you will find yourself spending a LOT of time trying to decide on what to put into the "perfect deck".

My old roommate from abou 8-9 years ago and his friends used to play, at least when they weren't too stoned to keep up with whose turn it was. I still have a couple of bags full of his old cards around here.
