Watched it last night. That was one crazy movie! It had a little bit of everything in it from all horror movies. If you have seen it don't give anything away.

Reviving this thread to see if anyone has any newer recommendations. A couple that I just watched recently and aren't already listed here (though I have watched them before seeing them on Netflix), Shooter and City of God.

BTW, I am considering this $5/month plan because it sure seems to fit the bill.

If you don't mind subtitles here are some award wining foreign movies that are just fantastic.
"Oldboy" starts weird but trust me you will be blown away.
    "I saw the devil"
    "The man from nowhere"
    "The hunt"
"A gang story" a French gypsie gangster movie. It's awesome
"The girl with the dragon tattoo" trilogy. Not chick flicks like some people think.
    "Hara-kiri death of a samurai"
    "13 assassins"

    In English
    "Dead man down"
    "Bronson"
There are 2 Oldboy movies, one from '03 the other from '13. Which one did you watch?

The Art of the Steal(2013) with Kurt Russell and Matt Dillon was pretty good.
The Usual Suspects(1995) was outstanding. Can't believe I waited so long to watch that one.

Really liked Jericho acting wasn't the best but great story line. Too bad it was canceled. Seems like most of the good series have been covered

The Usual Suspects(1995) ditto - great
Life - another Police Detective Drama - not (or this might be on amazon prime? or perhaps has more episodes)
Foyle's War - if you like BBC detective shows - circa WWII

    The Killing.....COULD NOT STOP!

That is a helluva addictive show...afraid to start season 2 as it consumed evrey free second I had

The killing is SUPERB. I'm almost to the end of Season 2.

Is it that good? I got chocked out with political mumbo jumbo around the time this came out so when I heard it was about politics I didn't even attempt to watch it.

Dude, House of Cards puts every show on netflix to shame. It is in fact all about politics and even if you don't like Political themed shows, you will be hooked after the first episode. In fact, don't even watch the first one unless you have some time soon to binge watch it. Folks be all like, "Just one more episode and I'll go to bed" then suddenly it is 5am on a week day, your eyes are bleeding and you're thinking up an excuse to call in to work.
