It's sad this guy was killed, and I don't know that the officers' actions were totally justified -- BUT HAD HE SIMPLY COMPLIED WITH THE OFFICERS' COMMANDS HE WOULD MOST LIKELY BE ALIVE TODAY! This seems to be a common factor in so many officer-involved shootings: resisting arrest, fighting with the officers, similar stupid moves. But of course, you wouldn't expect the media to point out that fact.

I'd go find the video on here "Dashcam/Bodycam video (in current events)" because this video took place in Feb. 23 of this year, where 2 officers were shot less than a block away from this store! I don't know why the above mentioned video wasn't big news? people should know cops aren't screwing around in that hood! I don't blame them one bit for being overly aggressive in that area where they run a high risk of being shot, especially running a shooting threat/gun call.

I think I watched that one I didn't realize or remember (something I would normally remember but I aint getting any younger) that two officers were shot. We shouldnt have allowed it to get this way. Its just like all these nations who are now ran by radical muslims or devout muslism (depending on who you believe) that regularly threaten our way of life, we shouldn't have allowed it to happen, but we did allow it to happen and there aint much hope for these muslim strongholds or these ghetto gang bannger thug life strongholds. So now what? We continue to define insanity by trying to referee the fight between warring tribes fighting over and over again and again.

Yea, if true was in possession of a firearm. I tried watching the news conference about this, but was about to f**king puke! All of these people standing up for a criminal. How many officers have been killed here in Louisiana in the last 12 month? 2-3, I can't remember? They talked about how the DOJ, Obama's office has "reached " out to them. Who stands up for our LEO's? Who reaches out to their families, wives and children? Really pisses me off! This guy put himself in this situation and force two policemen, doing their job to make a split second decision. It has turned into a political circus a long time ago.

I just watched the video. It's down at the bottomhttp://reason.com/blog/2016/07/06/alton-sterling-shot-killed-baton-rouge

Two officers were literally sitting on top of the thug while they shot him. While I do agree that the thug could have easily acted calmer and stayed alive, that officer is in a world of trouble.

    What you can't see...

Two officers struggling to restrain a large man who is fighting back, with one hand attempting to grab a firearm at his pocket.

Typically when you have a gun pointed at you, it's wise to do what the officer commands.

Yeah its bad for your heath to F-around while a gun is pointed at you, but some people just wont listen.

You really have to be some kind of stupid to try to kill a cop. Even if some how his ghetto ninja skills would have been faster than not one but two cops, what then? When they finger you for it they are gonna f your world up. Darwin's theory I suppose.

We are in for a wild ride with this story. At least we will get to see what our trusted local news stations are made of. Will they report all the facts about the altercation, the history of the area and the history of Mr Sterling? Will they choose a side? I'm guessing they will choose a side.
