Storage of powder and primer question

I was reloading for a while about 6-7 years ago and stopped. I kept all my equipment and want to start again. My power and primers have been kept in an outside shed that is not humidity controlled. It is in the original containers and is kept in a plastic cabinet...not air tight. Wondering if...

      Selling once fired brass...

Did you ever have a chance to count that brass? Interested in 38 and 40

      Had couple of squib rounds

Thanks for the info. It was stuck in the barrel of my .38 and I couldn't get it out so brought it to a local gunsmith, not sure if there was powder left or not. Not sure if the powder smells bad or not, never smelled it before. I'll have to pay more attention and make sure there is powder in all...

      Had couple of squib rounds

Hi all, I've been told and read that these are caused by no powder in the rounds. I go slow at reloading and can't see how this would happen. I wasn't distracted when reloading this batch. I will say that my powder and primers are a few years old and kept outside in the garage in a cabinet...

      SW40VE Jamming

Hi all, I was shooting some reloaded ammo last weekend. Shot about 110 rounds no problem then started jamming on me bad. I couldn't get the ammo out of the chamber, had to call one of the guys from the front desk to give me a hand. He couldn't get it at first. He let it cool down a bit and...

      Not getting consistent grains

Yeah maybe so but I have about 2.5 lbs. left of Unique so I better get used to it at least for the time being. I'll try a dryer sheet and see if that helps any. I'm not near a hot load or anything but I'm trying to figure out what I like as far as loads and it's irritating me! Thanks!

      Not getting consistent grains

I'm using Lee products, auto disk adjustable charge bar and a digital scale. I haven't reloaded in awhile and getting back into it and forgot this is a pain in the butt! For example, if I'm trying to get 4.8 I'll get a couple of charges that are 4.8 then it'll go from 4.6-4.9 the next few pulls...

      What are these marks?

Just got a call from S&W, they received the gun about a week ago and they are sending me a new one!! :D

      What are these marks?

Do ya'll think I could leave it and see how it does or get in touch with S&W?
    11. Iamjustifyd

      What are these marks?

      It's a S&W 642 J frame, 158 gr SWC with 4.2gr Unique powder. Brass casings, CCI primers

      What are these marks?

Had a couple of misfires, I think the primers were not seated all the way. Probably from that?

      What are these marks?

What are these marks from? I went to the range yesterday and was cleaning today, don't remember these being there.

      Brass weight

Thanks for answering. I guess until I'm really sure of the powder dropping I'll weigh each until I get comfortable. Even then, I'm no power shooter so I can take my time and make sure everything is ok. I don't need 150 rounds an hour.

      Brass weight

Yes, trying to weigh powder and case and the same time. Put the brass on the scale, zero it out, lee auto disc measure with the lee charge bar for the powder, then back on the scale. But seems like there is a difference in the brass weight so have to zero the scale out every time. I don't really...
