Did fingerprints and submitted application at LSP HQ on Friday Nov. 30th. Permit received in mail Friday Jan 4th. Permit issue date Dec. 26th. 5 weeks exactly from drop off to arrival during holiday season. Can't complain.
Well, you've seen them up close. And my pile of parts.
Been pretty busy, gotta get some of these projects done. I've never had the time but now I'm running out of room to keep them.
I'm in Franklinton and will let you do it at your own risk. I've got a 20T press but you'll be pulling the trigger, so to speak.
How bad is it? Pics?
I've done some major cleanup with a cell phone charger, $4 rubbermaid container, ammonia, vinegar and water.
All I know is that they took over/bought out what used to be Global trades/Armory USA.
Here's what a quick google search pulled up. I only read the first couple posts. http://www.gunco.net/forums/f36/elk-river-tool-die-44691/
Looks like I'll be busy making AK parts. I posted some of my milled receiver rewelds on a few boards and have a bunch of guys wanting repair plates. I've been on the mill all weekend.
Let me start by saying that these were/are some ugly guns.
There are a few FCG options (such as Remington 870) for building these but I was bored and wanted to build something. I made a housing to contain AK FCG parts. I had everything here to do it with and went at it. From my count, 922r is...
I wasn't even going to build it originally. I found it on gunbroker as a package deal. The M64 RPK front end paired up with a later M70 rear (different profile) and complete underfolder rear end all for $250.
I stripped the parts to build another RPK then found a torch cut receiver. I...
Thanks, it takes some time to do these but it's worth it at the end. I'm using a manual mill so making the plates takes some time. After that, it's cleaning up the welds.
I've tried that but it depends on the end user. I did some of these with the trigger opening already cut and holes drilled in the bottom and sideplates.
The trigger pin hole is really close and if you get the OAL wrong, the bottom is in the hole. It just gives the end user a little more room...
I've had a bunch of milled front ends and assorted parts laying around for a while. I've been scraping together the other parts to finish them. I'm still sitting on a big pile of kits but here are some of the recent builds.
One of the victims.
And a stripped M64 RPK stub and barrel...
Got a few old barrels that could use this to clean up the muzzle end. Any smiths' out there that do this? Made a few calls, none of the smiths' I talked to do this and some don't even have a clue what it is.
