      I still have a bunch of kits, but my second child (and second daughter) was born ten years ago, so building kind of lost its charm - no one to pass it on to. Man, though do I have ammo! I miss the build parties back in 2007. Still have instructions for build steps written on the wall of my shop.

      Yes, the wood is always the weak point on the type 53's. I had a long conversation with a guy who imported them, and he said the Chinese have absolutely no respect for firearms. He said they treat them like disposable commodities.

      I wonder about this a lot these days. So much talk of catastrophe on the gun boards is a bit depressing. This is the United States for crying out loud!
