It's somewhat debatable, but a lot of shops would consider this situation to be a straw purchase. Taking into consideration the amount of caution that was showed in the original interaction, I'm willing to bet this shop owner would.
It may not fly at some other LGS, but at Academy (where I use to sell firearms), we would allow supporting documentation when addresses didn't match. We'd just note it in block 18b "Supplemental Government Issued Documentation."
There was no clear company policy as to what was the qualifier...
I'm out here towards Robert. I have a huge section of woods (1.5mi x 1mi) that I regularly shoot at. Lots of fallen trees that act as a decent backstop. Very little wildlife and no human activity that I've ever seen. Currently, you can really only get about 50yds out of it, but I may end up...
Getting rid of my Glock 19 GEN 4. It's approximately three months old, and has 48rds exactly down the pipe. Comes with case, extra grips, lock, stock sights and three magazines. TLR-3 (pictured) is not for sale. It's sat in my glove box this entire time, so it's in excellent condition.
Looking...
Only range in the Robert area I know of is the one right down the road from me, and it's private. Been to it before, and it's very legit.
If someone was to open a 1,000yd range in Robert, my ultimate question is where the hell would they put it? Not all that much room out here what with the...
I would be the one instructing the class. I find value in training with the weapon you would use if you ever had to, in this case your rifle. Even though you would not be shooting, it is beneficial to learn how to handle your firearm as you provide medical care, which sounds easier than it...
As I said earlier, in the future I intend on conducting classes where no firearms of any type are allowed. I completely understand why some get nervous around others with firearms (the military was no exception to that).
I appreciate the input. Thanks for the well wishes.
Does anyone else have any suggestions for locations? I am willing to talk more about the course, but the overall point of this thread is finding a location.
There will be real rifles present. If you do not feel safe about that, I apologize. When I do courses in the future, I will be doing some without firearms of any type.
Times can be flexible, but I'm looking at six hours each day (From about 10am-4pm).
I have certifications and documents...
I agree. I (along with others taking the course) will be preventing as much flagging as possible. Poor muzzle awareness was never intended to be excused by myself in my original statement.
Because soft whispers don't carry across open terrain very well.
That and I feel doing a live fire for my first course would not be a very smart thing to do.
