My Deer hunting lease has banned hog hunting
Is it hunting hogs or baiting hogs that he's stopping? Stopping baiting them is a different discussion than stopping hunting them. -

That's exactly what I've been told by wardens at Sherburne. The amount of funding they get comes from how many people use the WMA's and they keep track of how many people use the area by the self-clearing permits. Filling them out keeps these places open plain and simple.- Win1917

Yes they are. They're giving you the freedom to hunt with whatever you want as long as it fits a few basic criteria. Some states have much bigger lists of restrictions which I guess could be viewed as a positive because they're more specific about what you can hunt with but the downside is you... -

Preferred setup for Louisiana deer hunting

Does anyone load 6.5x257 Roberts?
The easiest source of dies is probably going to CH4D dies. They offer a pile of wildcat dies at fairly reasonable prices. For what it's worth, only the seating die can be made with a chambering reamer. The sizing die needs to be slightly smaller than the chamber in order for it to work...- Win1917

Reloading Space
After a divorce I downsized into an apt so pretty much only reloading out of my range kit these days. It's inconvenient but fortunately I'm a low volume reloader (mostly single shots, precision rifles,etc) so it's easier to make do with simpler tools.- Win1917

No Headstamps?
Late reply but check the dimensions of the cases against a 7.5 Swiss, that's what immediately came to mind with the two outside cases in the pic with the 308 in the middle. They're slightly longer, bit more taper in the case and larger rim diameter.- Win1917

Hunting with milsurp rifles?
My first deer rifle was a Savage 219 30-30 but my first "real" deer rifle as I thought as a kid was a Bubba'd Winchester 1917 my grandpa gave me that had been hacked up by great uncle back in the 30's. Beyond that, I've hunted a few times with a K31 and T38 but never taken anything with them. -

Best value single shot rifle?
I'm a single shot fan (Contender, Encore, #1) but unfortunately haven't used either of the two in question. That said, I've been really tempted to get one of the CVA Scouts in 35 Remington. I think the size and caliber is about perfect for a PW legal rifle in LA. If hunting over open fields...
