Was it in another gun-free zone?

I'm curious if theaters are going to start providing security.

Why? What is wrong with a business not wanting people bringing firearms into their business. Why would a business have to provide security? There is always the option to not go.

Also, law enforcement did their job in both recent shootings. A person with a CCW would have probably been more of a problem to responding officers than helpful.

Nothing wrong, I'm just genuinely curious.

I agree. It could get ugly quick.

Are you against civilians concealing in public places like this?? Do you think everyone should just sit back, wait for police to arrive and hope he doesn't shoot them? Serious questions, trying to understand.

Im sure someone who took a bullet while cowering or running for their lives would disagree. Or someone that lost a loved one probably wishes someone with a CCW next to or behind the shooter would have ended his spree a few shots sooner. I don't disagree that a CCW holder could make a situation worse if they are not prepared on how to react after a situation such as this, but to make a blanket statement like you did is unjustified IMO.

I think throwing someone into the mix with a firearm could potentially be very dangerous. Notice that even be LEOs are wearing vest to identify them as LE for this exact reason.

Valid points, but on the other hand, if theaters allowed CCW then they wouldn't be the target that they are now.

I would love to see a theater chain designate half of their locations in each city as gun free and the other half CCW permitted and see what happens.

What about the potential victims caught in the crossfire by someone who just went to a CCW class and had no further training.

This is not a public place. Just because the public is invited, it is still private property.

I'll keep carrying mine so I don't have to wait for someone else to come help me. I like having the option.

We are talking about on private property where the business owner has asked you not to.

I'm hopeful that this won't turn into a "we are the police and we are the only ones that can/should protect you civilians"!!!!
Just my opinion, and I'm sure some won't agree with it, be aware and be ready to at least try to protect yourself and your family at all times, at any cost, and to the best of your ability.
