Bi-Pod

What is a good brand for a Bi-Pod? I have seen several at Academy and Cabelas. I have a Howa Model 1500 .308 I use it for big game hunting and some precision shooting. Anybody have any suggestions?

Harris is considered the standard. The leg notches make them easier to adjust. You can get a podlock for one. Easy to resell if you don't want it.


I have a Caldwell that I like. It is light, easy to swap & doesn't mess up wooden stocks. Bad thing is it does not have leg notches.

Walmart and others sell some Harris look alikes. I'm not a fan of copies from china usually.

figuring what height you need is fun. I'd say go shorter.

Winchester makes one, but it is the Winchester repeating arms of china i think.

Atlas. Depending on budget Atlas. If you want to never regret buying a cheaper one, Atlas.

Harris bipods are awesome for the money.

Harris are nice, the only problem is if you load the bipod the feet can turn. I think someone makes and aftermarket part that stops that?

+1 Spend the extra $ on better quality. I bought a Harris knock off once and it works but the cheap materials are starting to bend. Only a matter of time till they break or become unuseable. So I spent $40 for something that lasted a couple years or I could've spent $60 for something that would last a lifetime.
