Bushnell Legend

My nephew just got a remington 700 sps in .308 and he's looking for a scope to put on it. This is his first rifle and not sure if he's really into it, so he just want to spend around 200. He's looking at the Bushnell Legend 5-15x40 Mildot scope. I was wondering what everybody think about the bushnell legend or have a scope they recommend in that price range.

Hopefully both in the future but right now target practice at 100 to 500 yards.

I'd buy the Burris over the Bushnell. Myself and Buddy have both had bed experiences in dealing with Bushnell's service department. Burris has always treated me well.

I'd avoid the low end Bushnell's as well. Look into the Nikon Prostaff and Buckmaster lines.

Mueller makes some nice scopes in the $200 price range.

I have several Bushnell Banners. I consider them to be a possible throw away if they need repair.

Budget a little bit for decent bases & rings.
