A guy I work with is trying to sell me his colt 1911 for $600. It is a government model series 80 (i think) and it is a blued finish. I looked at it and it might have 100 rounds down the tube. Does this sound like a decent deal or should I try and talk him down a little?

it is just a base model with wood grips and a gold colt medallion in one of the grips. I hate to lowball him but i'm going to to bring $450 cash with me and see if he bites.

well the guy came up to me at the end of our shift and ask if I want it for $500. Told him I would have to think about it. I may give it a week and hit him with $450.

I may just do that we always drink beer after work (night shift) but I don't even know if I want a full size 1911 after handling a kimber ultra carry today.....
