Wow folks! The response so far to this clinic is great. Because of that, Lanny has asked that we try to keep the class to about 12 people. This way there will be more one on one time spent with the shooters and coaches. If we get more than 12, we will look to set up another clinic and will post that up. So keep responding!

    I would like to attend.

I specifically request not being the target puller for Mickey.
I will shoot next to him. I'll even bring him a sandwich.
In no way, shape or form will I pull targets for him.
Most definitley not at 200 yds.

The wind reading class is FULL at this time. However, keep responding if you have interest and we will see about doing another one.
    Thanks,

    Yep.

For anyone else wondering- As long as you are shooting a 168 grain or heavier bullet, the .308 will have no problem reaching 600 yards accurately. Lighter bullets such as 150 grain have a tendency to have more wind problems.

Really? Do tell. I'm shooting 155gr bullets out of my .308 at 3050fps. If we compare that to a 168gr bullet at 2750fps, the results speak differently.

The 155 has 11.5MOA of drop and 4.2MOA (26.6") of deflection and a ToF of 0.740 seconds.
The 168 has 15.5MOA of drop and 5.5MOA (34.6") of deflection and a ToF of 0.850 seconds.

So it requires less come up than the 168gr bullet and it is effected less by the wind because it is exposed to the wind for a shorter period of time.

Under no circumstances can a .308 drive a 168gr bullet fast enough to outperform a well driven 155gr bullet. And FWIW, at the elevation that I live in, a 168gr bullet wont make it to 1k where as a 155gr bullet does it with ease.
