As I said in the other thread, we will run a stage in another "pit" just around the corner, and possibly on the upper end, so we should be able to run more squads.
We can't leave ANYTHING we don't want stolen. I have dropped off several loads of old rotors to use as anchors when the wind gets up, GONE. My sons and I built a bench and set up a 100 yd target so EVERYONE could sight in their rifles, even the hunting club, GONE. Someone dug it up out of the ground and hauled it off. We had a nice "shoot house" up there that some guys built. We came in one Sunday morning and it was still smoldering from the Saturday night "bonfire" Tim Lott built a frame to shoot out of, kind of like a cage with an open spot in the roof. GONE. I'm surprised the lumber we use hasn't walked off.
We have permission to drop off a cargo container to store our stuff, but I think it will prob. get burnt or shot full of holes.
I do sometimes go up and work out the details of a stage, maybe leave an old wood stand or two set up, but nothing that I need to be there the next morning. I had to leave my old trailer there one night, so I chained it to a tree, and threw limbs all over it to try to cover it up. and didn't sleep well that night. Things have gotten better now that we can lock the gate, but I still find the gate wide open most days I go up there.
I have driven by a lot and seem the gate open. To me it sounds like we need to find another location. I know someone with a great deal of land in the Poplarville area. I might could talk em into leasing us some. I am going to try and make the match tomorrow just to watch.
