    Between the A & the T
    Living Alarm System

    get 2 or 3 Beagles or some white Geese or some guinea hens and park close to the house with some good lights outside.

    +1 EXACTLY what the gentleman from Hickory suggested.....

    Hell Guinea's will even keep the Poe Poe at bay:}

    lock up and out of site. get alarm system. put up some video signs . bad guys dont know if true or not. if you make it hard to take. they will go to next house who has made it easy. doors unlocked . keys in vehicles. most bad guys are lazy.

    How about a guard animal that can pull double duty? I've heard of people with some kind of chicken or other fowl that makes for a good perimeter alarm to alert you and of course you get eggs and meat from the deal. :D

    Geese -- you'd be surprised how territorial and LOUD they can be.

    Guinea hens are great.

    No kidding! I am planning to buy 20-40 acres, and priced the cheapest fencing I could, just out of curiosity, and it would cost more than the property itself to do even a 4.5" tall wire type (like a 4-6" "block/grid" type, I don't know what it's called, Chain link was ABSURD $$$) fence. Barb wire is about the only way to do it economically unless you are keeping something in/out that is going to pay for the fence (agriculture/livestock).

    No climb wire.

    my pitbull/boxer sits at the front window of my house and anyone that comes up that she doesnt know, she starts going crazy

    From inside.

    Problem with Boxers is they have thin fur and are susceptible to sunburn and windburn and cannot be out all the time in the heat of summer of the cold of winter.

    But yes, they will growl at just about everything.
