who makes a good king cake? we like the Bavarian cream ones.

the best i have had so far is from rouses market.

we got one from cocoa bean bakery here in hammond, but its just bland.

By far, my favorite ones are from a place called "Coffee &" in Marrero (Westbank Expressway).

I do prefer the regular ones, filled ones are gross for the most part.

Like Ske1etor said, the plain ones are just filled with cinnamon. Those are they kind that my family eats and the kind I make as well. I've seen them at Rouses, Gambino's, Randazzo's and a few other places.

I would say Whole Paycheck (aka Whole Foods) but we're no longer friends.

We had a pecan praline from Randazzo's that was really good, but I'm not a huge fan of the colored sugar method or cakes that come in bags. Ralph's Market has good ones with colored icing, not sprinkles that fall all over the damn place.

Passed by there the other day going to Gonzales, and it was packed. Guess I am going to have to go there soon and try them out.
