I rotate my carry knife and I keep going back to this little one.

I really don't think it needs the assisted opening.

Are you looking for anything in particular? I might be willing to let one of mine go.

Something in a clip or drop point. About 3.25-3.5" closed. Interesting scales in mammoth, ivory or red hued, or some interestingly patterned wood (no jigged or basic bone). Engraved bolsters would be a plus. Stainless also, as I tend to not care for carbon as closely as I should. Anything you have lost interest in? Heh

    Which model is that one?

Aphid BenchMade 340. I don't know if they are still on the market.

Almost none of my Lloyd knives are stainless. He is starting to make more. Vince's cousin is doing the engraving, again a recent development.

I just checked my notes and I don't believe any of mine are stainless.

Best thing would be to contact Vince directly. He is very good to work with.

I'll do that when ready. Like I said, still not sure what I want for my first custom. Or semi custom. I want something hand made and slightly embellished.

    Sounds like a plan.

You could check out Chuck Gedraitis knives, but he is getting kinda pricey.

I would suggest reading Blade Forums. Lotsa different knives on display there.

Bayou Shooter Spyderco Endura 4. The best knife I have ever owned I really love the Emerson blade opener. It was a little weird at first but I will never buy another knife without it !!

Has anyone ever seen or heard of a knife maker using fossilized mammoth tooth for a handle material?

According to the knife maker, the knife pictured below uses just that.

Not uncommon in customs. Check out blade forums. You'll see plenty

Got my trusty Spyderco Grasshopper today. Works great as a work knife for boxes of coins and boxes of paper. Those evil boxes never even know what hit em!
