I can't tell by your words whether you are happy or not, but that looks like an awesome place! Where is that, and how much per acre did that cost?

Oh, I'm happy. It's in the ozarks, and cost me $812.50/Acre (I just want a place to put a cabin, plant some fruit trees and escape.)

I was just up there. (I keep an old truck up there, just rode my bike up there, and will be back next weekend.)

The bad news is that I just found out that the well will cost $12-$13K!!!!

You should see if that hole holds water all year and put some fish in it.

I have 2 streams on the property, both of which still had water (And the last time it was this dry was 1936!)
    Had water last year...

There's also a 1/4 acre pond just off my property, bare land which is never used...

Question,Why would you need a well when it seem's you have a natural spring ?
    Nice place b.t.w.

    Thank you.

I am afraid that it might be a perched Water table, meaning that it is a smaller body of water separated from the aquifer.

The springs, and artesian well on one end of my property (unfortunately in an inaccessible place) running through last years heat as well as this one make me hope it will be enough, but I'd not want to spend 2-3k on a well and have it run dry, and need to start over...

One of the streams originates on my property, and next weekend I'll trace the source and see if it's useable.

Meanwhile I'm going to go through my collection and see what may need to be sacrificed for water...

Cool,If you need a hand locating the spring let me know...As far as deer and turkey,I'm sure they know better than us about the water...

wow. THat's gorgeous. How is that price per acre? Good? I'm interested in buying a few acres. Love the country up there. Is is practical? Will taxes eat me up?
