Curious, why SBR? What's the advantage other then loss of accuracy?

It shoots 45 ACP so it was never meant as a long range weapon. You gain more maneuverability with little to no loss of accuracy in this type of carbine.

It is as it was designed. The UMP which is used by LEO/Military comes in the SBR configuration. They were made in the long barrel just to meet civilian requirements.

I was bidding on several USC's on gunbroker. I want a black one though so I don't have to dye it. They are running a lot more than the grey though :(

The UMP was mint to have a short barrel. This was an old grey HK USC carbine before I started the conversion. It's currently a class I firearm. My paperwork will go out tomorrow on a form 1 for a SBR. I have an extra barrel that will be cut down with a UMP flange attached.

Looks nice Corey. Now you need the .40SW kit ;).

    I want one in 9mm, SBR'd.

Why would anyone want one in 9mm or 40? Both calibers are inferior. 9mm I guess I understand for ammo costs, but why 40 when they make 10mm UMP's. If you were going to switch from .45 to anything it should be 10mm.

40 S&W < 45 ACP LOL. With that said don't destroy this guys thread flaming me. I am willing to take flames in a new thread in off-topic or by PM.

Corey, the conversion is beautiful. I would like to do one in 9mm one day just to be different. I have only seen the conversions in .45 & .40.
