I don't pull triggers until I open the action either to chamber a round or visually confirm it's clear, one or the other. Typically, I won't even pull the trigger after checking it's clear unless I'm trying to observe something with the trigger pull. I know some people pull triggers while pointing in a safe direction to ensure the fire mechanism is inert, but I just can't operate that way.

I worked the show today in Mandeville and was very surprised to see the gentleman from the Slidell show (dealer) that had the AD working his tables at todays show. It goes to show you that no matter who you are and how long you have been fooling with guns, an accident can still happen. Todays show was pretty much a dissapointment,,, Hardly any people there.
Why is that surprising? Is he supposed to just stop handling firearm and making a living all together? I’m sure he was embarrassed enough to show his face and have to talk about it to every Tom, Dick, and Harry who walked up asking about it. Maybe it would be different if he had a history of being reckless or had a ND at a show prior to the one in Slidell.

Different promoters, maybe the Slidell show won't invite him back. I went to the show at the Alario Center in Westwego last week, and that was pretty sparse, too.
