I recently started inshore fishing out of a kayak and am looking for a knife.
Im looking for a knife to cut fishing line, rope, etc:

    Inexpensive (less than $40)
    Does not rust with saltwater
    Around 5-8" overall lenght
    Sharp, serrated if possible.
Either folder, or fixed (with a sheath)

Let me know if you can help

I use a cliphanger, might rust but as long as you take care of it, you won't have that problem. Just like a boat, you have to clean it off afterwards.

Hmmm, I've been also using the SOG keychain knife for fishing. But that's in my big boat, not worried about losing my keys over the side.

Look at some dive knifes. I have a fixed blade blunt tip, it has a hard plastic sheath and rubber leg straps that conviently fit my fire extinguisher.

Ballistol does wonders at cleaning a knife after corrosion sets in. I have been going out kayak fishing a lot lately and have used it to clean mine and my friends knives after coming back and forgetting to rinse the salt off.

FYI NO STEEL IS 100% RUSTPROOF!!! Some are close to it but any steel has the ability to rust if abused right lol. Now treat a knife like a gun and clean after use and most stainless metals will last foever and for that matter most carbon steels too if taken care of.
