The Reason I was asking is that I have a buncha 6.5 Jap Arisaka that I'm planning on reloading, and since Norma is the only Manufacturer I know of that makes this cartridge I found some reloading data on their site that may be of interest.

    http://www.norma.cc/sortimentladd.asp?Kaliber=6,5 Japanese Arisaka&Lang=2

The only Vendor I found online is in Kansas

    http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/index.html

and of course with the Additional Hazardous Material Shipping charge 22.50 turns into 45.00 before actual shipping..

Has anyone had any experience reloading this caliber before and know of some other reliable loads using other more readily available powders?

The rifle I will be shooting it in is a actual WWII Relic my uncle brought home from the Pacific Theatre, and I hunted with it as a Kid and kept all the brass for just this occasion.

Just did a google search of:
    6.5 Jap Arisaka load data
first 2 links pointed me to Hodgdon / IMR

    http://www.chuckhawks.com/6-5x50.htm
    http://www.loaddata.com/members/sea...iberid=43&header=6.5mm Caliber Reloading Data

    So I went to:
    http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp
You have to fill in the drop down menus - They don't link the results
    Listed these powders
    H335
    H380
    H4831
    BL-C(2)
    H4895

You can maybe try to contact Norma & ask them were to get it in LA.

Another thing you can do is look in a burn rate chart for powders with a similar rate then go see if that powder has a load for what you need. I can tell you probably know you can't just swap powder since you are looking for published loads.

Thanks I did see some of the other links, but was wondering if anyone else might have had any experiences with this caliber.

I will try and get with Norma about a Louisiana Dealer.
    Thanks

Would anyone happen to know anyplace locally (State of Louisiana) that sells Norma 203B Powder.

I don't know of anyone who sells Norma 203B but I would suggest you try to get access to a Powley Powder computer and see if any of the ball or stick powders in the same range would work as well (3031, 4064, 4895).

    An online version is here:

Norma powder tends to be expensive, that is if you can find it. The only time ive seen it is at the Tulsa Gun Show and at Camp Perry. Im sure you could mail order it, with a $25 haz mat fee.
I would look in other manuals, lyman, hodgon, IMR, Lee, and find another powder.
