(FAIRFAX, VA) - The National Rifle Association today issued the following statement:
"In the aftermath of the evil and senseless attack in Las Vegas, the American people are looking for answers as to how future tragedies can be prevented. Unfortunately, the first response from some politicians has been to call for more gun control. Banning guns from law-abiding Americans based on the criminal act of a madman will do nothing to prevent future attacks. This is a fact that has been proven time and again in countries across the world. In Las Vegas, reports indicate that certain devices were used to modify the firearms involved. Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law. The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations. In an increasingly dangerous world, the NRA remains focused on our mission: strengthening Americans' Second Amendment freedom to defend themselves, their families and their communities. To that end, on behalf of our five million members across the country, we urge Congress to pass National Right-to-Carry reciprocity, which will allow law-abiding Americans to defend themselves and their families from acts of violence."
I stand corrected. In that case screw them. GOA all day. Why do I keep assuming the NRA will do their job when they REALLY need to? Makes me think they are going to endorse some *middle-ground* bill and screw us.

So - after standing firm for Sandy Hook - people are immediately ready to throw the NRA off a cliff because they aren't standing behind simulated full auto?
Unbelievable. Well, I wish it was. Not surprising at all actually.
Is the NRA perfect? No. Who is? What is?
What is the BEST CASE scenario is Slide Fire gets banned?
Are you of the belief that when a sports team plays - if the other team gets a first down, you throw your hands up because your team can't do a ******* thing right? Forget them forever?
To the people who are saying the NRA is wrong, do you feel automatic rifles should be legal?

Are we really getting to a point in our country where every time something bad happens and the person uses something that has never been used before we should just ban it?
YES
Politicians wwith agendas that defy logic, will use the power of people's emotions to ram their agenda through. This describes more than half of our politicians, btw.
I totally agree. Probably should have added that it was rhetorical and a very scary place to be.
I heard Rush the other day and he was talking about the left wanting more gun control up to taking guns away from us completely. The irony, as he put it, was that the same people that are shouting the Trump is basically Hitler and he will be the next Mussolini and how we shouldn't stand for that are the same ones that are screaming to take away our only way to truly defend against Trump being Hitler or Mussolini.
