Would it violate the 8th amendment to ship them to a scenic place like South Sudan or the Central African Republic?

The death penalty (which i am not opposed to) is honestly more of an emotional response to a crime, not necessarily a logical or practical one. I'd personally rather my offender sit in prison another 20-30 years rather than punch out early.

Maybe the root problem is that fed-pens are too much like concrete resorts. Put Joe Arpaio in charge, I'll put up a hefty wager that crime plummets. Anyone watch "locked up abroad"? Man our vics here have it cush.

    How I'd run it.

    If you are unequivocally (DNA/VIDEO) guilty of any heinous crime that bears the weight of the Death Sentence;

At the slam of the guilty gavel you will be escorted out of the nearest Building Exit, into a private back alley.
There you will receive, at Muzzle Velocity, a single .22 round behind your ear and into your brain.
Your next to kin will be called and told to come pick you up where you lay.
If you have no next to kin, the State will pay for your cremation and your ashes will be flushed down the Crematories nearest toilet.

…and thus will be the end of your time here on earth.

    The End

Effective and as economical as it gets. I guarantee you that won't take 43 minutes, either- so save the speech, Mr. President.

lol cost more to execute than keep in jail for life bullets are 50 cents each and rope can be reused. But I do think your on the right track with the escape from New York idea

The costs are more relating to the extra legal processes and appeals.

I read recently that all of the drugs that they use are not made for lethal injections. They are just using massive quantities of drugs made for other reasons. None of the drug companies want their drug that they are trying to sell to doctors and hospitals to be the drug used for lethal injection. Some drug companies have refused to sell to Dept's of corrections. There is a big problem with trying to find the right combination of drugs and a good supply supposedly.

In the Lockett execution they used midazolam, which has a ton of uses outside of lethal injections, especially for sedation, treatment of epileptic seizures(where Valium isn't working) and insomnia. They also used potassium chloride, which is really commonly added to fluid bags of animals in veterinary care that aren't eating(low levels of potassium can cause heart arrhythmia and problems with kidney function I'd be surprised if they don't use it for the same reasons in humans). Finally, they used sodium thiopental, which has been superseded by propofol, they could easily use propofol instead, but propofol is much more expensive.

    The Abolition of Slavery?

    Its one of my favorites.

Yessir. Every time you look at the tax lines on a paycheck and realize that half of that represents transfer payments. Essentially, the fruits of those who work extorted, at gun point, for the support of the idle. A reasonable, working definition of slavery. Emancipation Proclamation, notwithstanding.

DNA evidence, though not very well understood during the OJ trial, is making death penalty cases that much more easier to swallow for me!

Jack, any idea why potassium chloride was used?
I used to get tons of it everyday when i was on Chemo. Was told same as you state to replace the low level I had.
Was told it was like eating 100 plus bananas, and it was harmless

Injected into the blood stream(not in fluids like you got) it causes the heart to stop. It takes a lot more than they were giving you. It is sometimes used in euthanasizing animals of the 4 legged variety.
