Hey Guys,
So I want to start reloading .45acp for my new 1911... so at the gun show last weekend I picked up some Frontier Plated 200gr flat point bullets from waggespack (spelling).
I'm starting to figure out how deep to seat the round...
If I seat the bullet where the bullet is just below the hood, the round doesn't fall freely from the barrel... it seems like the rifling is catching on the "shoulder"...where the angled part of the bullet goes straight... if I seat the bullet deeper, I go below the min OAL for the load..
So here's my question...
Does it matter that it seems the shoulder is slightly engaging the rifling? Should I seat slighting deeper and reduce the charge? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Aaron
