What kind of experience have you had with Springfield's 1911s and where can I get a good deal on the Loaded model or something similar? Thanks

I had a Loaded. It was my first 1911 and I really liked it. Definitely a very good buy. Never had a single issue with it and it ran flawlessly.

I have a Loaded and a Range Officer. SA makes a reliable 1911. I picked up my loaded used at a crazy cheap price and a Range Officer could be found new between $750-800ish. I think I saw a Loaded for $749 at the last Gun Show in Kenner.

I had a TRP Operator but sold it. Too much crap on the pistol. All of the features are nice on paper, but in practice they suck. After having shot that pistol for a while, I realized it(and 1911's in general) did the same thing as a glock, just with a slightly tighter group, lower capacity, less reliability, and much greater cost.

My Springfield Loaded 9mm has over 100,00 rounds through it all with stock internal parts. It just keeps running and running and running. I am looking for another one in 45 ACP.

I have a stainless Loaded 1911 in 45. It is fun to shoot at the range and I might try it at a USPSA match sometime. It takes me awhile to get used to having a safety on a gun though.

I have a stainless TRP it is a nice 1911. It is a small bit better than my Kimbers-a small bit. I also have a Dan Wesson VALOR that puts the TRP and the Kimbers in the shade. The Valor did cost more than the TRP but I do think that you get value for your cash. This is the only Springfield 1911 that I own and at this price I feel that it is a very good pistol. Plus you can keep it if you every want to move to NEW YORK.

I have the retro WWII 1911 and it is reliable, accurate and well made. It has small sights, plain straight rear serrations, no ambi- anything, no speed bump, no beaver tail, and nothing skeletonized, but does make .45 holes that allow blood pressure to rapidly decrease.

I have a loaded and trp. I like them both but after having the front strap checkering on the trp, I can't have a 1911 with out them..... Really increases the grip.

I've had the GI Mil Spec in parkerized and sold it to get the same pistol in stainless. They are super reliable and mine have eaten whatever I fed them, brass or steel case made no difference. I really like the stainless finish on mine..They are great feeling pistols in the hand. For the money I think they are the best 1911s out there.
