Definitely Destin or Gatlinburg. White water rafting in Gatlinburg and hiking is great this time of the year. Destin is great also, just got back from our annual trip there.

We love to go to Destin in the Off-season, but we don't like crowds. Favorite places to go are http://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/ (Destin or Pensacola) and http://oldbaysteamerfwb.com/

Really great steaks, 17 cent bean soup, burgers, rubens beer and drinks at Mcguires. Great crab, king crab, royal red shrimp, mussles, oysters, etc at Old Bay Steamer.

My wife and I enjoy Flounder's in Pensacola Beach. Good food, beach bar in the back on the bay, dock, kids play area, beach volleyball, right across the street from the beach, live music after 10pm... cool place!

At some time when I can get away. My wife and I plan to fly to Miami, rent a Covette convertable and drive down to KeyWest for a few days. Drive back to Miami and fly back. I went there when I was a kid in the 60's. Looks like a nice drive.???

Gatlinburg. Secluded log cabin the the mountains. Awesome hiking trails with beautiful waterfalls. Tons of stuff to do during the day. No night life over there though. Turns into a ghost town at 9-10pm. Go back to the cabin and soak in the hot tub. We went in October and caught the color change. Breathtaking!!

For $2500 for two people you can easily fly into southwestern Colorado, rent a 4x4 and go tour some real mountains. Loop into Utah for Monument Valley, 4 corners, and some general high desert scenery.
