My father got this recipe from someone at the hunting camp we used to be members of. It is the best way we have found to prepare deer shoulder

Clean up the shoulders, season, place in pan, spread sliced jalepenos evenly, cover in sliced onions, put mild rotell tomatoes on top, cover with foil and roast at 325 degrees for about 5 hours.

Looks yummy. What is it about Jalapeno peppers and Venison though? Seems like every Venison recipe has jalapeno's in it.

I cooked some just like it was a beef stew. The only difference was it was venison and the seasoning was Mexican. Something about venison & mexican flavor works for me also.

Panola makes a jalapeno pepper sauce that is great. It is not hot but has awesome flavor.

I have a friend that cooks pork in similar recipe to yours - also good.
