walmart gun clearence

Two managers at Opelousas Wal Mart told me not all stores have it, after asking her to please just scan it, and I'll shut up. She finally scanned a Colt and was shocked it rang up $400 cheaper..

Surprisingly, some Wal-Mart employees aren't the brightest. The employees at the Covington location are usually pretty nice. They will check inventory in the computer for you, scan anything to check the prices and even check other locations for items. But beware of the old guy named Billy. He thinks he know more than he actually does. I've been there when another customer was looking for 9mm ammo and without hesitation, Billy responded that they had none. I pointed out that there was a big stack of it locked behind the glass. Other customer left with 5 boxes.
Then yesterday, I asked him if the Bushmaster came with a 30 round magazine. His response was that none of the rifles that Wal-Mart gets in come with 30 round magazines any longer, only 20 rounds. Guess what was in the box... the 30 round magazine.

the floor people have -zero- training other than basic employment and safety stuff. If you want a place to 1-stop shop the pharmacy, pickup ammo, and a few groceries while getting your oil changed: walmart.

if you want any specialized or educated service: niche store. (best buy, gun store, midas, etc)

but that she somehow knows that a colt is at least an animal ....so I continue....

well I just started working here and I ain't seen none of that, I don't even know where they'd keep that

sounds about like the norm.

I really COULD write a book. You'd be stunned at our LP scenarios and the things we pulled.

Some of my favorites:

Paying to replace the engine in a prius because our tech didn't think they used oil.

Rushing to parking lot to tell a customer that my sporting goods girl was wrong and he cannot fire .357's from his .38. (she sold him the ammo because we were out and said "it'll work, didnt you know?"

Hardware associate asking me "which paint smells like mint" eh, what?
"Yeah some guy is over here and he's got us smelling all the spray paint because he wants the one that's mint smell so his house doesn't stink.

Geez I could tell a different story every day, and not repeat stories until obummer is out of office.

My local gun store told my brother-n-law that
the Walmart Colts are of cheaper quality
and have a W in the serial number to signify that.

I was disappointed that someone there actually told him this
and spread this false information.

I plan to call them today and inform them of REALITY, nicely of course.
I enjoy doing business with them, but man, that's some false info right there.

Yea like I said, I was disappointed. I haven't heard them speak any such non-sense like that to me at all
and their service has been great....to me...

My brother-n-law was asking about their prices on their LE6920's.
When he told my b-i-l he in return asked him why Walmart's was cheaper.

That is what the Gun Counter guy told him. B/c they are.

Pretty sure he picked up on my B-I-L's inexperience with guns
and fed him some ********.

Checked out the sales at my local WM this morning. They had a Colt 6920 and they also had Bushmaster AR for $499. However, be aware that the Bushmaster AR15 for 499 had a Polymer lower.

Hate to say it but that's why I don't post ammo finds. It's like giving up your favorite fishing spot. It would be a little different if it was only BS members.

meh, I post after I purchase. "found X price at Y location".

I'm also in the habit of buying .22LR, .223, and 9mm and reselling to friendly BS members for zero markup (usually charge 1 cold drink and some gun conversation as a processing fee). I'd love to see that practice flourish.
