    150 rounds.. put 300+ in my old XD 45

    Shoot it more. A lot more. It'll clean up pretty well and lose that grittiness you're probably experiencing.

    EDIT to add: Dry fire will do the trick as well, although I suggest snap caps for sure. Even with the proper revision striker, I'm a bit squeemish without one in an M&P.

    You *can't* go wrong here except in the ergo department. Everyone else said it right- shoot both (if possible) and see which one feels best to you. I shoot XDs, I do best with XDs. I can't hit **** with a Glock or M&P (which oddly is the best feeling handgun of the three), but when you break down the three pistols they are very very similar. Its minor things that separate the big three plastics, with ergonomics being the biggest thing. Out of YOUR two, I'd pick the M&P, but that doesn't mean its best for you.
