Yes and no. Bite is not pleasant, but venom is nothing like a recluse. Minor swelling and redness...heard it is comparable to a wasp sting. I have not been bitten only been told from someone who has.

Yes, it will bite and it does hurt. But so will Golden Orb Weavers (Banana Spiders), when squeezed, or threatened.
