xd/xdm are fully cocked with every cycle of the trigger. The trigger only releases the sear when pulled. For this reason they are considered single action only. Yes they have a trigger safety similar to glocks, and a grip safety. Damn good guns in my opinion.

I do not believe the XDM is fully cocked by the cycling of the slide. If you look closely, or put your finger on the "striker status indicator", as you pull the trigger it comes a little further out. This indicates to me that that a little extra tension is being put on the striker spring.
While the trigger pull is much closer to a single action than anything else, I don't believe it is entirely single action.
