Youth rifle recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a youth rifle for 9 yr old grandsons 100-125 lb.
I have seen Savage youth model in .243 and 7MM-08. Would also consider other brands and .308 caliber.

there is a remington 700 in .243 on Bayou shooter right now fairly cheap

The Ruger American is a great rifle at an incredible price point. Good thing is it is hard to go wrong with any rifle today. They are soooo much better than back in the day. Recommend choosing caliber first. The .243 is perfect for anyone that is recoil sensitive; make sure you buy hunting ammo and not target ammo. If not recoil sensitive then I would consider a .308 or .270. Set your budget, include an optic, and your choices will be obvious. Good luck!
