What ammo would most likely be available once stores have been ransacked. What ammo is likely to be found in deserted home dwellings. What rifle and 10 mags weighs the less, and is the easiest to haul around

Id grab my Fal and my M4. The Fal across the back and the M4 across my chest and my chest rig. My chest has 12 AR mags and 10 Fal mags in it. The scope on the Fal has since been replaced with a Barska 30mm 4x24x60 and my Ar has a Leapers 4x16x40 on it.

Dude. Where did you get the Flecktarn Rig? I absolutely love that camo! Goes great during the Fall in Northern Louisiana!

    Really just one ???

For an all purpose I'd choose my FN SLP 12g is everywhere so stockpiling it is not an issue I can shoot different loads depending on application.

2nd choice would be my .22lr

    Then ar/ak

    Then bolt actions M44

I've got to agree with Captain Banhammer on this one. Would you rather carry 10 7rd mags or 5 15 rd mags? Would you rather be limited to high quality FMJ ammo, or ANY ammo. I enjoy shooting my 1911 more than any glock, but when push comes to shove one of them can be a little picky.

As for Rifle, I'm torn. I certainly wouldn't want a pile of russian crap. (AK,M91/30, M44) If I'm going to carry a rifle I'd rather it be MORE accurate at 100yds than the pistol I carry, not less. Probably my RRA AR with 1-4 on top. it'll shoot anything you feed it, and it's accurate , though it's not my lightest or most accurate gun, it's more reliable and lighter than my most accurate, and more accurate and more reliable than my lightest. . Unless I'm not on the run, then it's the LR-308. Nothin says loving like 168's from the oven.

Until I get some decent bottom metal and mags for my shorty .308 bolt gun that is.

A good .22 could keep a man fed and afford a certain amount of defense. If the SHTF situation does come to pass, I wanna be where all I will need for a rifle is a .22.

Right now it would be my puma/rossi 92 454 casull because it is the most tactical rifle I have right now. Haha... However, I am contemplating adding an AK-47 of some variant to the heard as well.

My updated rifle is my Sgl 31-95 with a Midwest industries rail with a Aimpoint micro T-1 attached to the top rail. Rifle is not too heavy, one of the most controllable rifles I have ever shot, and I have plenty of ammo and magazines for it.

    I'll keep my VZ.

I could bury it, dig it up, and then take a dump in the chamber and still fire a full magazine. You AR advocates better not even get spiderwebs in those things.

to the truth of the thread: whatever I can find ammo for, caliber irrelevant. Depending on what type of S has HTF, I'd maybe even opt for my pellet rifle.

ps: that scar above makes my whole brain shut down with lust.

It appears to me, after reading 3 years of posts on here, I'd damn sure better have something with the word "tactical" on it!

I'll have to agree with MADWABBIT. When it comes down to it and the initial chaos has subsided... it's going to be whatever your can find ammo for. The weapons that aren't "main stream" are going to end up being the weapons of choice considering all of the common ammo will be gone in very short time... if not hoarded by other shooters, they will be shot up.

Anyone breaking into stores to pull ammo is going to grab as much as they can of what they need... not the uncommon stuff. If you have a weapon capable of using the uncommon ammo types, you'll have an increased supply as that stuff will be left behind. No one wants to carry the extra weight of ammo they won't use (yet).

And definitely... the SCAR is on target!
